CONTEMPORARY HOMES

There is a serenity that comes from a contemporary home. Simple plans with big windows that bring in heaps of natural light inspire calmness. Limited decorative trim allows the open floor plans and bold living spaces to speak for themselves.

Homes that focus on clean lines and sleek design will be enhanced by a modern stone look. Whether it’s used as an accentuating component within the residence or a full façade on the exterior, the main features of this style include unified stone that matches the palette of the structure and symmetrical placement that heightens the modern feel.

OLD WORLD HOMES

For those who relish a touch of grandeur in their life, old world styling is a fitting direction. This type of home calls on design from another era while remaining firmly rooted in today’s architectural motifs. Entering through the front passage is part regal, part inviting, and always impressive.

Pulling inspiration from the classic homes of Italy, Greece, Spain, and the like, old-world aesthetics feature fine details that accentuate a structure’s design. To achieve this look, masons will pull a variety of stones that are all within the same color palette then arrange them in thoughtful layouts that are singular to that residence. The cohesive stonework can also incorporate arches and columns reminiscent of constructions from Western Europe that further drive a feeling of stateliness and structural integrity.

PROVENCE HOMES

The rolling hills of Provence are spotted with picturesque homes built with stones of clean whites and soft creams that offer a canvas for the nearby vineyards and lavender fields to accentuate. There is a minimalism to the design that brings to mind the effortless beauty and style of the people of France. Stonework in the Provence character is classic, chic, and intrinsically elegant.

To achieve this look, masons source beautiful stone and then use a technique called stone cladding to place the rock. It’s a time-consuming process, but the result it an elevated appearance that brings to mind charm and splendor the French countryside.

TRADITIONAL HOMES

For those who desire the classic design of an East Coast or New England style home, traditional stonework is ideal. The masons at Young Idea’s expertly place the rock in a strategic and artful method that is learned over years of apprenticeship and hands-on experience. Three different stones including travertine, sandstone, and limestone are used. Each stone is deliberately positioned to work well with the colors and shapes around it. The result is an element that is singular to a home. This is different than how many other masonries construct such designs, where palettes are delivered pre-blended and simply placed on the wall in a method that can lack uniqueness.
